Welcome to Wiltshire Academy, located in Rochester, New York. Great prestige and an outstanding reputation among high society built the school up to the highest of rankings and popularity. Revered for their soaring standards in academia, astounding achievements in athletics and a sophisticated aesthetic for the arts, the Academy is sought out by the rich, the famous and the influential. The wealthy from all over the United States of America seem to naturally gravitate to this school, whether it is to rise up the social ladder by using their children, wanting to keep their children out of their hair, to get rid of them or simply because they can. In a world where earning a million in a year, perhaps more, is becoming more frequent, the subject of money and tuition fees are merely brushed off and dealt with breezily. The elite of the US have all managed to find this educational institution, regardless of the seclusion due to it’s location outside of the city, and have all placed their spoiled and bratty children where adult supervision is of a minimum, only available in public or in the classroom. The occurrences that happen when the teachers are relaxing in the staff lounge and sipping their coffee is something the parents of these privileged teens could go on without knowing.[/ul]
The students are often pulled to a certain group, whether it be by a shared image or interest. It’s a natural pull, very much like gravity. All the snobs are attached at the hip, the best athletes always sit by the same basketball hoop, the artists wander off and find inspiration in their own group, the musicians create their songs and accompaniment in the same room, often seen together, and the children of the theatre read through their lines side by side. Try as one might to be an individual, to be known for just being a whole person instead of one thing, the separation is too much. Some fight everyday to be known for being the person they are instead of the person they’re labeled to be.
The ladies are all groomed, molded and formed into the ideal young woman. They’re hair are near perfect at all times, their closet’s up to date, their make-up is flawless and bodies are toned. Their diets are carefully tailored for them, full of pure healthy food. Their drive for beauty and perfection is undoubtedly unmatched. They work towards attracting as many of the opposite sex as they can, preferably the richest and the most handsome. Emotions and feelings are rarely an issue. Sometimes, the pure ability of being able to say that ‘I dated that guy’ can very much be the main reason for the relationship. From an outsider, these are the perfect females… smart, rich and incredibly beautiful. Inside the school’s vicinity, they’re conniving, partying and cheating. Not to generalize, some do have a level head, real talent and an amiable personality. They’re not as well-known but they do exist outside of the world of the popular people.
The men are something else. They’re dressed in the best attire, buffed up, all tall and striking beings. Athletics is their main focus, while school is its main rival. They keep their grades up but still have to make time to be able to score in a game and gain touchdowns. Everyone knows that most of them just like to play the field and that they just revel in the fact that all the women are clawing each other down to get to them. There are dozens of men walking around the halls with this thought in mind and an attitude that’ll make a normal person hit them in the head. Surprise, surprise… the men have their own share of those who have a good head on their shoulders and a working brain along with their physical skill.
Oh, all that I know,
There's nothing here to run from,
'Cos yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on.
There's nothing here to run from,
'Cos yeah, everybody here's got somebody to lean on.
For years now, the school has only accepted students from the United States. Recent demands of enrollments and increasing offers have prompted the administration to open their doors to the rest of the globe. The upcoming school year will be introducing the isolated teens to the rest of the world, throwing in their foreign students into the American school. The foreign students are welcomed into the school with territorial behavior and exclusion from the rest of the student body. The American teens feel the rivalry creeping up on them. Hysteria comes into play as they all put on their best attire, brush up on their academics and work their charm to be able to retain a firm hold on their reputations. Their goal for the next school year is to remain on the top of their game, to let the foreign students know that this is their place, their world and that there is no room for another star athlete or for another gorgeous female ruler. Tensions are high, relationships are strained and people are picked apart. Everyone’s paranoid about how they’re going to stop the new kids from ‘stealing’ their ‘identity’ and are admittedly threatened. In the midst of this ‘catastrophe’, it looks like it's too late to say don't panic.
